Grease film

No. 1 Grease

"Tell me about it stud"

Set in 1950s (1978)

Now Grease must be the most iconic movie to watch in a drive in setting. Set in the 1950s with its catchy songs and incredible sets and costumes it is a perfect feel good summer watch.

Olivia Newton John and John Travolta put on a legendary performance in this film and I just love all the dance numbers and this has always been one of my favourite movies of all times.

Dirty Dancing Film

No.2 Dirty Dancing

Wow what a movie!

"Nobody puts baby in the corner" 1987 (set in the 1950s)

This is one of the greatest Summer vintage movies loved by all ages and across the world and most famous for it's memorable dance scene when Patrick Swayze lifts Jennifer Grey, which has been copied numerous times at weddings and on special occasions by couples.

A true love story of opposites attracting in a Summer holiday park, it's a tale of growing up (a very typical 1950s theme) and the end of innocence.

The wardrobe and costumes are iconic but understated in the way that they do not dominate the scenes. The main characters are actually quite paired down compared to the lindy hop style dresses and skinny pants worn by the rest of the cast.

No 3. Phsyco

Psycho film

An iconic thriller / phsycological horror ...

"Mother".. (1960)

Who can forget the iconic scene beuatifully directed by Alfred Hitchcock with Janet Leigh in the shower and Anthony Perkins behind the curtain waiting to strike.

One to cover your eyes in parts if you are not a fan of being scared. Shot in black and white this only adds to the drama and allows you to focus on the main character. This has to be one of the best vintage movies in terms of how memorable and perfect it is.

I absolutely love John Hughes films and The Breakfast Club staring Judd Nelson and Molly Ringwald and many other talented actors and actresses is probably one of his most well known films which has made such a big impact on many people.

This film explores the struggle of being a teenager, being misunderstood and the pressure of trying to fit in.

Also of course features the iconic song 'Dont you (forget about me)' which watching in a drive through setting surrounded by people, I can imagine the atmosphere would be incredible.
